Originally established as Shaun Doyle Security Services, Doyle Security Ltd
was founded by Shaun in Barnsley in January 1985 to cater to the needs
of local publicans, providing door services and related security duties.
Drawing upon a unique blend of talent, Shaun enlisted retired boxers from
his gym “The Junction Inn,” where he himself trained during his active boxing
career in the 1960s. Additionally, he welcomed former coal miners who had
regrettably lost their jobs during the coal miners’ strike of 1984 to 1985.
The company experienced rapid expansion, securing contracts with brewing
giants Whitbread and John Smiths as they embarked on a modernisation drive
for their town and city outlets. Simultaneously, demand surged for manned
guarding (Night Watchman) services from businesses across Yorkshire. This
segment 昀氀ourished, establishing enduring partnerships with numerous privately
owned businesses and local authorities, many of which endure to this day.
In 1996, Shaun entrusted the reins to his son Grant, who propelled the
company to new heights. Embracing cutting-edge technology alongside the
昀椀rm’s core manned services, Grant led the company through a period of
sustained growth. Over the ensuing 25 years, Doyle Security has evolved
into a nationally recognized and accredited provider of security solutions.
